About
Our Financial Services client is seeking a Business Analyst to join our Broker Dealer Back Office team, with a focus on Transaction Lifecycle Management (TLM) for collateral management. This role supports risk mitigation, collateral optimization, and operational efficiency across a diverse product set, including fixed income, equity, repo, tri‑party agreements, derivatives, and securities lending.
- Hybrid role: 3‑4 days a week in NYC (local candidates only, no relocation)
- Not eligible for employer‑sponsored work authorization (e.g., H‑1B, OPT, CPT, etc.) or transfer
- Candidates must have valid U.S. work authorization
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and document workflows from agreement execution to settlement
- Ensure collateral adequacy and proper counterparty risk mitigation
- Collaborate with risk and operations teams to validate pledged collateral
- Support mark‑to‑market valuation and margin call processes
- Define requirements for automated alerts and shortfall monitoring
- Document escalation procedures and threshold logic
- Analyze margin call methodologies and dispute resolution workflows
- Support collateral substitution and optimization strategies for funding and repo operations
- Document substitution agreements and counterparty workflows
Tri‑Party Agreements & Operational Efficiency
- Provide analysis for tri‑party arrangements with custodians and service providers
- Identify automation and process improvement opportunities
- Support TLM system configuration and implementation
Technical Support & System Analysis
- Partner with IT to implement enhancements and integrations
- Troubleshoot collateral position mismatches and calculation logic
Business Analysis & Documentation
- Author business requirements and technical specifications
- Maintain process documentation, workflow diagrams, and system configurations
- Liaise with stakeholders to refine TLM functionality
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years in collateral management, operations, or business analysis within broker‑dealer or investment banking
- Strong understanding of TLM, margin calculations, and collateral optimization
- Experience across multiple products: fixed income, equity, repo, derivatives, securities lending
- Familiarity with tri‑party arrangements and custodian bank roles
- Hands‑on experience with SmartStream TLM (preferred), Broadridge, Calypso, Murex
- Proficiency in SQL for data analysis
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks: Dodd‑Frank, EMIR, Basel III, UMR
- Experience with greenfield or transformation projects
- Agile methodology exposure and future‑ready tech mindset
- Strong communication, documentation, and cross‑functional collaboration skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field
