Spécialiste BI (Développement ETL)

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking for a BI Specialist (ETL development) for a consulting mandate for one of our clients in the Montreal area. Reporting to the BI Manager within the Group IT VP (CIO), the BI Specialist (ETL Developer) will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and supporting ETL processes required to feed the enterprise Data Warehouse and its various analytical subject areas.

The consultant will act as a key contributor within the BI team, responsible for delivering high-quality, reliable, and scalable business intelligence solutions that support organizational decision-making.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF) or equivalent tools
• Ensure efficient extraction, transformation, and loading of data from multiple sources (ERP systems, relational databases, files, APIs, cloud platforms, etc.)
• Collaborate with the BI team to design, evolve, and support BI data models
• Develop, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects
• Implement strong data validation, control, and monitoring mechanisms to ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency
• Monitor and troubleshoot data workflows to ensure reliable and performant data loads
• Build and maintain robust data pipelines with a focus on automation and continuous improvement
• Leverage experience with ERP systems, particularly Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision), to support data integration and reporting needs
• Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and data management standards
• Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation
• Work closely with IT, analytics, and business stakeholders in a consulting environment

REQUIREMENTS

• University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Management Information Systems
• 5+ years of experience working with SQL Server or other relational databases
• Proven experience as a BI Specialist / ETL Developer
• Strong experience with ETL/ELT tools such as SSIS, Azure Data Factory, or equivalent
• Advanced proficiency in SQL, including performance tuning and advanced development
• Experience in Data Warehouse, Data Lake, and BI environments
• Strong background with Microsoft technologies (SQL Server, Azure SQL, SSIS, ADF)
• Familiarity with Star Schema modeling, cubes, and analytical data structures
• Knowledge of cloud-based data services (Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse)
• Strong analytical mindset, autonomy, and attention to detail
• Proficiency in French; English is an asset depending on the environment
• Bilingual (French/English) required for daily communications outside Quebec.
• Hybrid (2 days in the office)
