Position Requirements

• A High School Diploma or GED plus twelve (14) years of general system engineering experience.
• A Bachelor’s degree in a qualified engineering field or related discipline from an accredited college or university plus seven (10) years of systems engineering experience.
• A Master’s degree in a qualified engineering field or related discipline from an accredited college or university plus five (8) years of systems engineering experience.
• A PhD in a qualified engineering field or related discipline from an accredited college or university plus three (8) years of systems engineering experience.
• Position must have an active TS/SCI with polygraph clearance.

Responsibilities

• Analyze user requirements, concept of operations documents, and high‑level system architectures to develop system requirement specifications.
• Analyze system requirements and lead design and development activities.
• Guide users in formulating requirements, advise alternative approaches, and conduct feasibility studies.
• Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology.
• Incorporate new plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations.
• Develop technical documentation, system architecture, and system design documentation.
• Guide system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans.
• Interact with the Government regarding systems engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts.
• Take ultimate responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the systems engineering area of responsibility.
• Communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.

Technical Skills

• Cloud architecture/cloud engineer/platform engineering (especially AWS).
• AI/ML system design and implementation.
• High‑level understanding of the AI lifecycle (development, training, inference, monitoring).
• Experience with ML pipeline development, model deployment, and Dev Ops/MLOps.
• Experience with Amazon Sage Maker.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with stakeholder groups.
• System security and networking (particularly the implementation on classified systems).
• Data engineering and data lifecycle management.

Salary and Benefits

The proposed salary range for this position in Maryland is $170,000 to $210,000. Final salary will be determined based on various factors.
