About the role
Role Overview
As a Retail Sales Associate in the jewellery store, your role involves various responsibilities to ensure a smooth and efficient operation. You will be expected to handle customer transactions, inventory control & record-keeping, customer service, cash handling, compliance & security, and reports and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and maintain a friendly attitude throughout their shopping experience.
- Issue accurate bills and receipts for all purchases, providing detailed descriptions of the products bought, such as gem type, weight, and metal purity.
- Double-check item descriptions, prices, and taxes to ensure accurate invoicing.
- Keep meticulous records of all transactions, ensuring sales data is accurately documented and reconciled with daily reports.
- Assist in updating inventory records as needed and report any discrepancies or shortages to the supervisor promptly.
- Handle returns, exchanges, and refunds following company policies.
- Educate customers about product features and help them understand the value of the gems and jewellery they are interested in.
- Conduct cash transactions with precision, counting and storing money accurately.
- Record and balance all cash, cheque, and card transactions at the end of each shift.
- Implement procedures for large transactions to protect both customers and the company.
- Adhere to all legal and company policies regarding the sale of precious gems and jewellery, including tax regulations and authenticity certification.
- Ensure the security of high-value inventory and report any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.
- Assist in end-of-day financial reporting and audits, collaborating with the finance or accounting department as required.
Qualifications Required
- Immediate availability and familiarity with accounts or Tally software.
- Comfortable working at the Mehrauli location in person.
