About the role

Role Descriptions:

The CDM Windows Support Engineer supports, configures, upgrades, and maintains the Certent CDM platform across multiple environments. The role focuses on Windows Server, IIS, SQL Server, SSO implementation, and encrypted SQL communication, while troubleshooting application, authentication, and infrastructure issues during critical financial reporting cycles in hybrid enterprise production environments settings.

Key Responsibilities:

Certent CDM Platform

  • Support, configure, and maintain Certent CDM across DEV, UAT, PROD, and DR environments
  • Install and upgrade CDM components and services
  • Troubleshoot CDM application issues, IIS failures, Office plugin issues, and SQL connectivity

SSO Implementation (Key Deliverable)

  • Implement and validate Single Sign-On for Certent CDM
  • Resolve SSO issues related to authentication flow, tokens, and IIS conflicts

TCPS / SQL Encryption Setup (Key Deliverable)

  • Implement encrypted SQL communication (TCPS/TLS) for CDM
  • Configure certificates for SQL Server and CDM servers
  • Update and validate connection strings to enforce encryption
  • Troubleshoot TLS, certificate trust, and SQL client issues

Windows Server & IIS Administration

  • Manage IIS sites, application pools, bindings, and certificates
  • Apply OS patches and required security hardening
  • Diagnose issues using Event Viewer, IIS logs, CDM logs, and SQL logs

Operational Support

  • Provide escalated support during monthly and quarterly financial reporting cycles
  • Work with Finance and Platform teams to resolve CDM user or add-in issues
  • Maintain stable environments with minimal downtime or disruption

Documentation & Knowledge Transfer

  • Produce runbooks, configuration documents, and architecture diagrams
  • Deliver knowledge transfer sessions to internal technical teams
  • Document SSO and TCPS configurations for audit and compliance

Technical Requirements

  • Strong experience administering Windows Server 2019/2022
  • Hands-on expertise with IIS, including:
    • Application pools
    • Authentication
    • SSL bindings
    • Certificate management
  • Direct experience upgrading and supporting Certent CDM (Disclosure Management) platform
  • Proven ability to configure SSO for enterprise applications using:
    • SAML authentication
  • Experience implementing TCPS/TLS encryption for SQL Server, including:
    • Installing and configuring server and client certificates
    • Enabling encrypted SQL connections
    • Updating and validating connection strings
  • Solid understanding of SQL Server, including:
    • Connectivity
    • Permissions
    • Encryption
    • Performance troubleshooting
  • Proficiency with PowerShell scripting for automation and log/permission tasks
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across:
    • Operating systems
    • IIS
    • SQL Server
    • Authentication
    • CDM components
  • Ability to work independently and deliver results within tight timelines
