Network Engineer: Hybrid Infrastructure

This role focuses on maintaining a high-availability, Cisco-centric enterprise backbone while managing a diverse hybrid-cloud stack. You will balance deep CLI-based engineering with modern cloud networking and observability.

Core Technical Stack & Requirements

Cisco Routing & Switching (Primary)

• Expertise: Deep familiarity with Cisco CLI for configuration and troubleshooting.
• Core Protocols: Strong L2/L3 foundational knowledge including BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP, and QoS .
• Experience: 5+ years in enterprise environments (CCNP level knowledge preferred, though certification is not mandatory).

Network Security & Edge

• Firewalls: Implementation and policy management on Palo Alto (GlobalProtect, Panorama) and Juniper platforms.
• VPN: Managing secure IPsec tunnels and remote access solutions.

Wireless & Connectivity

• WiFi: Professional-grade deployment using Heatmaps (Ekahau/AirMagnet) to optimize signal density and coverage.
• SD-WAN: Practical experience with Silver Peak or similar enterprise WAN optimization.

Cloud & Linux Ecosystem

• Azure: Managing virtual networking, ExpressRoute, VNET peering, and NSGs.
• Linux | FOSS: Comfort operating in Linux environments; leveraging Free and Open Source Software to solve infrastructure challenges.
• Automation: Proficiency in Bash or PowerShell to replace manual CLI tasks with scalable scripts.

Monitoring & Observability

• Stack: Go beyond basic SNMP; experience building dashboards in Grafana to visualize network health and performance metrics.
• Proactive Analysis: Utilizing packet captures and flow data to diagnose latency and throughput issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Deploy: Scale a multi-location network that bridges on-prem Cisco hardware with Azure cloud assets.
• Maintain: Full ownership of LAN/WAN/Wireless lifecycle, ensuring 99.9% uptime.
• Troubleshoot: Resolve complex routing and security bottlenecks in a high-availability environment.
• Standardize: Use Visio for rigorous architecture documentation and maintain consistent configuration standards.
• Support: Participate in an on-call rotation for critical infrastructure incidents.
