Cloud Cyber Security Solutions Architect (Secret Clearance | Remote | Contract

About the Role

You'll be embedded with the Cyber Architecture team, reporting to the Assistant Directors, providing strategic cloud security advisory across a complex, regulated environment. This is a high-visibility role producing architecture artifacts, threat models, and risk guidance that lands directly in front of senior leadership and governance forums.

What You'll Be Doing

• Assessing current-state and target-state cloud architectures to support secure, risk-based migration initiatives
• Conducting threat modeling to identify attack vectors, control gaps, and risk-based mitigations
• Designing and governing cloud security controls including IAM, network security, data protection, and logging
• Developing reusable architecture artifacts: reference architectures, building blocks, and secure design patterns
• Creating and maintaining IT security standards and policies aligned with NIST, ISO 27001/27002, and internal frameworks
• Translating technical risk into business impact language for stakeholder reporting and governance forums
• Supporting cloud compliance and configuration governance against regulatory expectations in financial services
• Advising on third-party and cloud risk management practices
• Delivering workshops and knowledge transfer to internal teams

What You Bring

• University degree or college diploma in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in IT or cyber security, including cloud environments
• 3+ years as a Cloud Security Architect or senior cloud security specialist in complex, regulated environments
• Hands-on experience with Azure and hybrid cloud security
• Working knowledge of NIST CSF, NIST SP 800-53/61/92, ISO/IEC 27001/27002, CSA CCM, and CIS Benchmarks
• Experience with enterprise and security architecture frameworks (TOGAF, SABSA) is a strong asset
• Relevant certifications are a strong asset: CCSP, CISSP, CISM, or Azure/AWS security certs

Clearance Requirement

• Active Secret clearance is required.
• Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of Canadian residency.
