Cloud Engineer I

This is a 12-month contract position.

Job Description/Summary

Employees at this level solve problems with general supervision and are expected to develop skills and work with increasing independence. The Associate Cloud Engineer provides Level 1 support and troubleshooting for cloud platforms, handling routine tasks such as platform monitoring, backups, user support, and onboarding. This role may also involve basic scripting to support platform automation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop software platforms and frameworks, including platform automation and defining upgrade and change processes
• Maintain services, monitor system health, and identify opportunities for improvement
• Scale systems using continuous deployment and automation
• Research and implement best design principles to improve reliability and efficiency
• Work in an Agile environment using practices such as XP and test-driven development
• Collaborate with technical teams to troubleshoot and resolve software issues
• Address customer issues and contribute to enhancements and improvements
• Partner with engineers, developers, designers, and product owners

Education

Associate Degree required, or 1 year of equivalent experience in cloud engineering or server administration in lieu of a degree

Desired Qualifications/Experience

• Linux, Windows, Active Directory
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Networking, Data Center Infrastructure
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), Platform as a Service
• Scripting: Python, Bash, PowerShell, Go (Golang)
• Containers and microservices
• IAM roles, Sentinel policies, Terraform Enterprise, Vault, Apigee Hybrid
• Terraform or AWS certifications preferred

Pay

$40.00 - $50.00 per hour
