Cloud Platform Engineer - Azure

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Platform Engineer (Azure) to design, build, and optimize scalable, secure cloud infrastructure. This role will play a key part in driving platform reliability, automation, and performance while partnering cross-functionally to align cloud solutions with business objectives.

This is a hands-on engineering role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys building enterprise-grade cloud platforms from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage scalable Azure cloud infrastructure (VMs, Storage, Azure SQL, Functions, VNets, etc.)
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, ARM templates, or Bicep
• Implement and enforce cloud security best practices (AAD, Key Vault, NSGs, encryption, compliance controls)
• Monitor system performance using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights; troubleshoot and optimize environments
• Develop and test disaster recovery and business continuity strategies (Azure Backup, Site Recovery, geo-replication)
• Partner with DevOps and engineering teams to support CI/CD pipelines and containerized workloads (AKS, ACI)
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (HIPAA, SOC 2, GDPR) and maintain audit-ready documentation
• Collaborate with FinOps teams to optimize cloud spend and forecast usage
• Research and recommend new Azure technologies to improve efficiency and scalability

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or cloud infrastructure
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure
• Strong experience with core Azure services (Compute, Storage, Networking, AAD)
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM, or Bicep)
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitLab, etc.)
• Solid understanding of networking (DNS, VPNs, load balancers, firewalls, ExpressRoute)
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Azure Monitor, App Insights, Dynatrace, Prometheus)
• Proven ability to troubleshoot performance and scalability issues

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with containerization and orchestration (AKS, Docker, Kubernetes)
• Background in regulated environments (healthcare, finance, etc.)
• Familiarity with automation tools (Ansible, Azure Automation)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field
