About the role

JOB SUMMARY

The Community Solar Analyst is responsible for supporting the onboarding and ongoing management of Standard Solar Inc.’s (SSI) portfolio of community solar assets, which comprises of a mix 3rd party and internally managed subscriber pools. The position is located within SSI’s Asset Management department and will work closely with the Community Solar Specialist, Director of Asset Management, VP of Asset Management & Operations, Chief Operations Officer and 3rd party community solar aggregators/subscription managers. Additionally, the Community Solar Analyst will be asked on occasion to support special projects related to research and development, data entry and analysis, updating policies and procedures, and general training and team development needs within the department.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support internal registration/applications efforts related to securing program eligibility for pipeline assets
  • Engage 3rd party CS aggregators to solicit pricing and negotiate project-level SOWs related to pre-COD customer acquisition and ongoing management & churn services, ensuring alignment with board-approved underwriting criteria
  • Administer all active MSAs/SOWs with 3rd party CS aggregators and subscribers
  • Enroll late-stage construction assets in online utility billing and community solar portals and UCB programs, as relevant
  • Coordinate with 3rd party subscription managers to ensure timely submission of initial allocation reports and additional documentation as may be required by the relevant program
  • Support management of all CS Aggregators to ensure adherence with acquisition timelines, AP budgets with respect to acquisition, management and churn fees across all 3rd party managed assets; ensure timely/regular receipt of allocations, churn, invoicing and collections data for all projects across all aggregator platforms
  • Establish and maintain relationships with critical utility and regulatory POCs to ensure compliance across multiple state level programs and mediate any discrepancies with the relevant stakeholders
  • For SSI-managed CS assets (UCB only):
    • Manage ongoing project level churn; source replacement subscribers via 3rd party acquisition channels
    • Manage project level allocation changes and submit monthly allocation reports to utilities, including host bank management
    • Report monthly UCB invoicing and collections progress
    • Field emails and phone calls from project subscribers
  • Support further development and maintenance of internal community solar database for tracking market, project and subscriber level data.
  • Coordinate with Accounting to ensure alignment regarding monthly CS revenue & collection reporting; provide audit support as needed
  • Provide regular feedback to SSI Pricing/Investment team regarding market pricing and other critical assumptions regarding subscriber types, applicable discounts, churn, etc.
  • Assist the Director of Asset Management in any tasks that pertain to community solar or any other general VEM tasks having knowledge on.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • The Community Solar Analyst reports directly to the Director of Asset Management.

Qualifications

  • BS/MS with knowledge and interest in the renewable power industry.
  • Prior Experience with managing community solar agreements and/or commodities trading.
  • Must possess current valid drivers license or otherwise provide own transportation.
  • Must successfully pass background check and pre-employment drug testing.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer.

  • Internal:
    • SSI Business Development, Pricing/Investments, Transactions/M&A, Accounting, Structured Finance, EPC/IPT and Vigilant/O&M departments
    • Senior and Executive Management
  • External:
    • 3rd party acquisition and subscription management organizations
    • Utilities, program administrators and state level regulatory agencies
    • Community solar subscribers (SSI-managed CS assets)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Conducts in a professional office setting. Physical working conditions may involve the following:
