Company Accountant

An established and growing business based in Cavan is seeking to hire a Company Accountant to take full ownership of the finance function. This is an urgent hire and a key role within the organisation, reporting directly to senior leadership.

This position will suit a hands-on accountant who enjoys working in an SME environment and is looking to join a well-run, stable business where they can make a real impact and settle long term.

Key Responsibilities

• Full responsibility for the day-to-day finance function
• Preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports
• Ownership of month-end processes including journals and reconciliations
• Management of accounts payable and receivable
• Processing of payroll and oversight of pensions
• Preparation and submission of VAT and statutory returns
• Cashflow management and forecasting
• Maintenance of financial controls and continuous process improvement
• Liaising with external accountants, auditors and advisors
• Supporting senior management with financial insight and decision-making

Requirements

• Qualified, part-qualified or strong QBE accountant
• Proven experience in a broad, hands-on finance role
• Experience within SME, construction, engineering or manufacturing environments is an advantage
• Strong experience across payroll, VAT and management accounts
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of the finance function
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
