Your role and responsibilities

Our team is looking for candidates with exceptional technical aptitude, a passion for applied data science, and an interest in telling stories through data to solve real-world business problems.

As an Intern Data Scientist, you will join a fast-paced consulting team of Partners, Product Managers, Data Scientists, Architects, and Software Engineers to conceptualize, develop, and deploy machine learning solutions for enterprise-scale problems.

You will learn and use industry-leading data science technologies on a cloud platform (e.g., IBM Cloud, Azure) working on innovative projects that generate value for external client engagements or internal initiatives.

This position will be based in Toronto, Calgary, Montreal, or Ottawa in a fixed 4‑month work term starting September 2026. Candidates must be enrolled in full-time post‑secondary studies and return to full-time studies after the work term. MBA and PhD candidates are not eligible.

Required education

• High School Diploma/GED

Preferred education

• Bachelor’s Degree

Required technical and professional expertise

• Demonstrated familiarity or interest in machine learning, statistical analysis, or data mining through previous internships, personal/academic projects, hackathons, or publications.
• Experience with one or more scripting languages (Python preferred) or a proven computer science foundation.
• Hands‑on experience with GenAI/Agentic AI Frameworks (e.g., Microsoft Agent Framework, Lang Chain, Semantic Kernel, Lang Graph, Auto Gen) and large‑language‑model concepts (prompt engineering, RAG).
• Ability to confidently communicate ideas to peers or managers and to work independently as well as in a cross‑functional team.

Preferred technical and professional experience

• Minimum one work term in a data science or machine learning related role.
• Experience using machine‑learning/data‑science libraries in Python (scikit‑learn, Sci Py, pandas, Tensor Flow, PyTorch).
• General familiarity with databases and data‑engineering tools (SQL, Spark).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., IBM Cloud, Azure, AWS).

Other relevant job details

• Must have the ability to work in Canada without sponsorship.
• This role will involve working with technology that is covered by export regulations sanctions. Foreign nationals from sanctioned countries on a work permit (Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, and regions of Ukraine) are not eligible.
• The salary range for the position is based on a full-time schedule. Your ultimate salary within this range may vary depending on your job‑related skills and experience.
