We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to lead the definition, design, and governance of data assets within the Supply Chain organization in Global IT. This pivotal role ensures data consistency, quality, security, and accessibility to support strategic business initiatives, collaborating with stakeholders, delivery leads, data engineers, data scientists, and enterprise architects.
This position is based out of the Piscataway, NJ location. Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Architecture & Modeling: Create comprehensive conceptual, logical, and physical data models for Supply Chain. Translate business goals into a robust data architecture roadmap and define the dbt project structure, modeling standards (Kimball/Dimensional), and testing frameworks
- Data Governance & Product Ownership: Operationalize enterprise-wide standards, implementing data quality checks, privacy controls (PII masking), and managing metadata/lineage. Implement granular security (Row-Level Security, Dynamic Masking) and define/manage the domain’s "Data Products" (e.g., "Inventory Levels") for enterprise use
- Optimization & Cost Management (FinOps): Act as the "Design Authority". Proactively optimize pipeline performance and re-architect inefficient data flows to reduce Snowflake credit consumption and improve report performance. Ensure solutions are architected for long-term scalability and cost-efficiency
- Collaboration & Evaluation: Partner with the Data Delivery Lead to ensure architectural integrity. Assess new features (e.g., Iceberg tables) and tools to determine their fit for evolving domain needs
Qualifications
- Education & Experience: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, with 6+ years of experience in data architecture, modeling, and data management
- Technical Expertise:
- Data Modeling: Expert-level proficiency in dimensional data modeling (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema)
- Modern Data Stack: Deep hands-on experience with Snowflake or any cloud data warehouse (architecture, performance tuning, security). Experience with transformation tools like dbt or Coalesce
- Data Foundation: Knowledge of data warehousing/data lakes (e.g., Databricks, GCP BigQuery, Hadoop). Understanding of modeling methodologies (relational, dimensional, NoSQL) and integration patterns (ETL, ELT, API integrations)
- Orchestration & Analytics: Solid understanding of Airflow or other orchestration tools (DAG design patterns). Ability to design models for fast dashboard performance, understanding how BI tools (Domo, Sigma or similar) ingest data
- Governance: Familiarity with data governance principles and data quality management practices
- Professional Skills: Strategic thinking and excellent communication skills to translate technical concepts for stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience designing data solutions for Supply Chain and relevant process knowledge
- Experience in Retail or CPG domains
- Knowledge of privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CDMP, Snowpro Advanced Architect, DBT Architect)
- Deep Knowledge of ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle)
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $106,400.00 - $150,000.00 USD
Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.
Benefits: Salaried employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, and participation in the 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements. Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws. Detailed information regarding paid sick leave entitlements will be provided to employees upon hiring and may be subject to adjustments based on changes in legislation or company policies.
