About

We are seeking an Agile Engineer (Data) to build and support the CADMAP data platform within the DLL data management and analytics domain. This role focuses on designing, building, and operating a modern Azure-based Lakehouse architecture that integrates with the Odessa SaaS Asset Finance platform. You will work closely with internal data teams, SaaS vendors, and business stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and automated data solutions supporting analytics, reporting, and regulatory requirements.

Day to day

  • Collaborate within an Agile data engineering team to enhance and support the Canadian data warehouse and Lakehouse platform.
  • Partner with the SaaS vendor (Odessa) and internal IT teams to interpret source data mappings and align them with Databricks Unity Catalog standards.
  • Design, develop, and maintain Azure Data Factory pipelines and Databricks notebooks for data ingestion, transformation, and validation.
  • Build end-to-end automated data solutions using ADF, Databricks, Azure services, Unity Catalog, Azure SQL Server, PySpark, Python, and SQL.
  • Implement and maintain security best practices, including Azure Key Vault, secrets management, service principals, and RBAC via Azure AD groups.
  • Engage with Canadian business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable, cloud-based data Lakehouse solutions.
  • Develop Bicep templates and execute Azure DevOps (ADO) CI/CD release pipelines across DTAP environments.
  • Apply data masking, encryption, and data protection techniques for handling sensitive and regulated data.
  • Coordinate with Cleo file-handling teams to manage secure file transfers across global and local environments.
  • Support daily and month-end data delivery pipelines to meet reporting, analytics, and audit SLAs.

Please note this is a 12-Month Contract opportunity.

Essentials:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Asset Finance Experience: Hands-on experience with asset finance platforms, including Originations and Contract Management systems an asset
  • Azure Cloud Engineering:
    • Strong experience with Azure Resource Groups, Azure Functions, ADLS Gen2, Blob Storage, Parquet.
    • Expertise in Azure Key Vault, Identity & Access Management (IAM), and cloud monitoring and performance optimization.
  • Data Engineering & Lakehouse:
    • Proficiency with Azure Data Factory and Databricks (SQL Warehouse, Unity Catalog, Delta Tables, Delta Live Tables).
    • Advanced skills in SQL Server, PySpark, Python, and SQL.
    • Experience designing and maintaining scalable Lakehouse architectures.
  • CI/CD & Automation:
    • Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps repositories, CI/CD release pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code using Bicep.
    • Proven ability to automate deployments and manage multi-environment releases.
  • Agile Delivery:
    • Strong working knowledge of Agile/SCRUM methodologies and iterative development practices.
  • Cloud Database Design:
    • Expertise in dimensional modeling (facts and dimensions).
    • Experience building stored procedures, views, and database functions for analytical systems.
    • Strong understanding of Agile / SCRUM methodologies.
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
    • Proven ability to collaborate across distributed teams and vendor partners.
    • Experience working with Cleo file integration platforms an asset.
    • Exposure to global data platforms and regulatory reporting environments an asset.
    • Familiarity with Databricks Genie or similar AI-assisted analytics tools an asset.

Applicable pay range:

$86,406.00 - $129,610.00

Additional factors that may be used to determine your actual pay include your specific skills, years of relevant experience you possess, and other work-related qualifications. Many candidates may start in the bottom half of the applicable pay range, especially those with less experience or qualification.

This position is subject to the terms of DLL’s compensation plans and policies. Further, the position includes all other benefits provided to DLL employees, including healthcare benefits, vacation, sick leave, parental leave, possible discretionary bonuses, and all other benefits that are subject to eligibility.
