The Opportunity

Highspring is seeking a Data Platform Architect to play a key role in the evolution of a large-scale, cloud-based data platform for one of our enterprise clients. As a senior architectural leader, you will define and guide the platform's architectural vision, ensuring scalability, security, and long-term sustainability. You will work closely with engineering, DataOps, and MLOps teams to drive architectural excellence across people, processes, products, and technology.

What You'll Do

Architectural Leadership

• Define and communicate the architectural vision for the Data Platform, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Provide architectural guidance to engineering, DataOps, and MLOps teams, promoting modern frameworks and best practices.
• Design scalable, secure, and resilient data solutions aligned with industry standards and emerging technologies.

Strategy & Execution

• Develop and implement a long-term architectural strategy to evolve the Data Platform.
• Own and manage the architectural roadmap, actively reducing technical debt and enabling future scalability.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure platform architecture supports business priorities.

Data Architecture Optimization

• Continuously improve data architecture for performance, scalability, and security.
• Architect solutions that streamline DataOps and MLOps workflows, with a strong focus on automation.
• Define and enforce best practices for data governance, security, and regulatory compliance.

Platform Development & Integration

• Partner with product managers and stakeholders to define architectural requirements for new platform capabilities.
• Oversee the integration of new data technologies and tools into the platform.
• Ensure interoperability between platform components and external systems.

Technology & Innovation

• Stay current with trends and advancements in cloud computing and data architecture.
• Evaluate and recommend technologies that enhance platform performance, security, and user experience.
• Act as a technical mentor and architectural leader for delivery teams.

What You Bring to the Table

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in data architecture, with a strong focus on cloud-based platforms.
• Proven experience designing and architecting large-scale data platforms.
• Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional, enterprise-scale environments.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• A mindset focused on innovation, quality, and long-term platform evolution.

Core Skills Required

• Cloud platforms: Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Modern data platforms and architectures (e.g., Databricks).
• Strong knowledge of DataOps and MLOps practices.
• Data governance, security frameworks, and regulatory compliance.
• Distributed systems, scalability, and resiliency patterns.
