Join Johnson & Johnson as an R&D Engineering & Data Science Co-op to innovate surgical tools and analyze complex data sets in Cincinnati, OH. Your Role Key responsibilities include: • Perform analysis of structured and unstructured surgical data sets for Robotics, Handheld Instruments, or Digital Products R&D teams. • Contribute to product conceptualization for new surgical tools and platforms. • Write software to enable collaborative data analysis and ensure data quality. • Develop and conduct mechanical, electrical, and biological tissue laboratory experiments. • Design and optimize data visualizations for stakeholders. • Collaborate with and receive mentorship from Hardware Engineers, Data Engineers, and Data Scientists. • Utilize state-of-the-art tools and participate in on-site and virtual training courses. • Engage in rotations generally lasting 3-4 months, with availability for multiple rotations preferred. About You The company is looking for candidates who meet the following requirements: • Enrolled in an accredited college pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical, or similar) or Computing discipline (Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or similar) with strong Mechanical or Electrical Engineering principles. • Completed at least two semesters prior to the co-op term (sophomore standing or above). • Must be a student during the co-op term with a graduation date after the term start. • Minimum GPA of 3.0. • Proficiency in Python. • Leadership or participation in campus programs and/or community service activities. • Strong interest in healthcare. • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. for the full co-op term without requiring employment visa sponsorship. Preferred experience with: • Scientific or Engineering datasets. • Python data science libraries (Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Scikit-Learn, PySpark, etc.). • Machine learning tools and algorithms. • SQL, Tableau, and Git.
