Data Science Intern

Our client, a leading data analytics firm, is looking for a motivated and intellectually curious Data Science Intern to join their team in Enugu, Enugu, NG . This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to work on real-world data science projects, gain practical experience with various analytical tools and techniques, and contribute to data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate possesses a strong foundation in statistical analysis, programming, and a keen interest in extracting insights from complex datasets.

Throughout this internship, you will: Assist senior data scientists in collecting, cleaning, and preprocessing large datasets. Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies. Develop and implement statistical models and machine learning algorithms under guidance. Create visualizations and dashboards to communicate findings effectively to stakeholders. Contribute to the development of data-driven reports and presentations. Learn and apply various data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL). Participate in team meetings and contribute to project discussions. Assist in testing and validating analytical models. Gain exposure to the full data science lifecycle, from problem definition to solution deployment. Collaborate with other interns and team members on assigned tasks. Qualifications: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related quantitative field. Basic understanding of statistical concepts and methods. Familiarity with at least one programming language commonly used in data science (e.g., Python, R). Knowledge of SQL for database querying is a plus. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Eagerness to learn and a proactive attitude towards challenges. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Previous internship experience or relevant project work is advantageous but not required. This is a paid internship providing valuable industry experience.
