About the role

About us

CCRS is an independent research organisation focused on interdisciplinary, solution-oriented sustainability research. It works at the intersection of corporate practice and applied research, developing tools, methodologies, and publications in collaboration with companies, associations, and international partners.

One of its flagship projects is esg2go — a Swiss ESG rating and reporting tool built for SMEs. With over 1,000 active licences and broad institutional acceptance from Swiss Post, SBB, UBS, and Allianz, it has become a de facto standard for sustainability verification in Switzerland. Companies use it to measure and benchmark their ESG performance and to meet supply chain requirements from major buyers.

The job

You will contribute to applied sustainability research across three workstreams: esg2go, scope 3 emissions allocation, and academic publications. The work is analytically focused — building and refining sustainability models, running exploratory data analyses, producing visualisations, and supporting the statistical work behind both internal tools and peer-reviewed output.

Tasks • Modelling and refinement of ESG and sustainability assessment frameworks • Exploratory data analysis and visualisation for esg2go and research projects • Statistical analyses in support of academic publications • Scope 3 emissions allocation: methodology development and data work • Contribution to academic writing and research outputs

Your profile

You have a solid quantitative background and an interest in sustainable finance or corporate sustainability. You work independently on structured analytical tasks and can translate data into clear, meaningful output.

Core skills • Understanding of sustainability modelling practices • Exploratory data analysis • Statistical methods • Academic writing • German and English fluent (C1 minimum)

Tools • Python (NumPy, pandas, matplotlib) • Microsoft Excel • VBA (advantage)

Prior exposure to sustainable finance or corporate ESG practice is an advantage, not a requirement.

Applicants must hold a valid work permit for Switzerland — we are unable to sponsor one. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact Pascal at pascal.baertschi@ccrs.ch. You will work 12.6h/week (30%) and be compensated with 40CHF/h. We're happy to receive your application!
