Data Scientist (12 Months Contract - Remote)

Introduction

A Boutique analytics consulting firm is looking for a Junior to Mid-Level Data Scientist to support a growing pipeline of analytics and modelling projects. The team specialises in data analytics, statistical modelling and AI-driven insights, helping clients make better business decisions through data.

This role offers the opportunity to work on real-world consulting projects across industries such as tourism and retail, applying advanced analytics and modern AI techniques.

PS: 12 months contract opportunity

Duties & Responsibilities

• 1–4 years hands-on experience in data science, analytics, statistical modelling, or market research.

• Demonstrated ability to develop and apply statistical/predictive models and multivariate techniques.

• Practical exposure to AI/LLM applications for real-world problems (especially text analytics).

• Good understanding of the analytical market research process, including survey design and methodologies.

• Industry or consulting experience in an analytical environment would be ideal.

• Strong proficiency in Python and/or R.

• Solid SQL skills for data querying and manipulation.

• knowledge of Ms PowerPoint creating client-ready decks.

• Experience with data visualisation libraries/tools is a nice-to-have.

• Comfort working with LLMs via APIs or modern frameworks.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a closely related quantitative field

OR at least 4 years relevant experience

1–4 years hands-on experience in data science, analytics, statistical modelling, or market research.

Package & Remuneration

TCTC - R300 to R600k p/a
