Data Scientist, Applied AI & Solutions Architect
RLG International
About the role
About
RLG is an implementation firm that partners with clients to accelerate their improvement journey.
We implement transformative change through on-site coaching and practical solutions that shift the processes and behaviours of leaders and teams, connecting strategic intent to operational reality.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a Data Scientist, Applied AI & Solutions Architect who can bridge the gap between complex data and real‑world business decisions. This is not a back‑office analytics role. We are seeking a hands‑on builder who can design, prototype, and deploy AI‑driven solutions that create immediate impact. You will work across industrial and operational environments (Energy, Manufacturing, Aerospace etc.), helping transform complex datasets from areas such as supply chain, maintenance, safety, and ESG into actionable insights, tools, and systems that drive performance.
Become part of our collaborative team and help shape the future of how we apply AI in business transformation, with opportunities for continuous learning, influence, and career growth.
Responsibilities
- Design and deploy fit‑for‑purpose AI and data systems that ingest and structure complex client datasets
- Develop custom machine learning models and practical AI agents, including workflow automation tools, copilots, and decision support systems
- Build automated data pipelines and interactive dashboards such as Power BI and Streamlit that enable clear, data‑driven decision‑making
- Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights, focusing on what to do next
- Act as a trusted advisor in preparation for client engagement, communicating technical concepts in plain language to executive stakeholders
- Partner with clients to identify high‑impact opportunities where AI can accelerate operational and business performance
- Support and help build internal AI capabilities and contribute to the AI roadmap
- Use data to inform internal business performance, identifying trends, risks, and growth opportunities
Requirements
- 5 years of relevant experience in data science, analytics, or applied AI, with exceptional early‑career candidates considered
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with advanced degrees as an asset
- Strong programming capability in Python with JavaScript as an asset
- Experience or strong interest in AI and machine learning, including agentic systems, workflow automation, NLP, or predictive analytics
- Proficiency in SQL and experience building scalable data pipelines such as Airflow, Snowflake, or cloud‑native tools
- Experience creating clear, executive‑level data visualizations
- Experience applying data, analytics, or AI solutions in industrial, operational, or asset‑intensive environments such as oil and gas, manufacturing, logistics, or infrastructure
- Ability to translate data into business decisions and operational impact
