Machine Learning Engineer Manager
Cyncly
About the role
About Cyncly
Cyncly is the global software leader for the spaces where we live, work and play. Our end-to-end platform powers more than 70,000 customers — from independent designers and manufacturers to global retailers — across kitchen, bath, furniture, window, flooring and more. With offices in over 25 countries and a portfolio that combines design, manufacturing and commerce, we sit on a uniquely rich dataset of 3D product content, configurations, orders and customer interactions. We are investing significantly in AI and machine learning to turn this data into intelligent design assistants, smart configuration, recommendation systems and operational forecasting that redefine how our customers create and sell spaces.
The Role
We are looking for a Machine Learning Engineer Manager to join our growing Data & AI organisation. You will own the design, training and productionisation of ML systems that ship into Cyncly products used by tens of thousands of professionals every day. You will work shoulder-to-shoulder with product, design and platform engineering to take ideas from prototype to scaled, monitored services— and you will help shape the technical direction of ML at Cyncly. This is a senior individual-contributor role with a clear path to Staff. You will be a technical anchor for at least one ML domain (e.g. recommendation, computer vision on 3D assets, or generative design) and will mentor mid-level engineers and data scientists.
What You Will Do
- Design, train and deploy production ML models — from feature engineering and experimentation through to serving, monitoring and continuous retraining.
- Lead the technical execution of one or more flagship ML initiatives across recommendation, computer vision on 3D/2D design assets, NLP / LLM applications, or generative design.
- Partner with product managers and designers to translate ambiguous customer problems into measurable ML objectives and offline/online evaluation plans.
- Build robust ML infrastructure together with the platform team — training pipelines, feature stores, model registries, CI/CD for models, and online inference services.
- Set the bar for engineering excellence: code review, testing, reproducibility, model observability, and responsible-AI practices (bias, privacy, explainability).
- Mentor and grow other engineers and scientists; contribute to hiring and to the technical roadmap of the Data & AI group.
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of professional experience building and shipping ML systems at scale, with at least 2 years in a senior or tech-lead capacity.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals in Python; comfort with at least one of PyTorch, TensorFlow or JAX, and with the modern ML tooling ecosystem (e.g. MLflow, Ray, Kubeflow, Airflow, dbt).
- Deep, hands-on experience with at least one ML domain relevant to Cyncly: recommender systems, computer vision (ideally on 3D assets, point clouds or rendered scenes), NLP / LLM applications, or generative models.
- Experience taking models to production on a major cloud (AWS, GCP or Azure), including containerisation, GPU workloads, and online/offline inference patterns.
- Track record of working with cross-functional partners on ambiguous problems and converting them into clear, measurable ML products.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English; able to make complex technical trade-offs legible to non-ML stakeholders.
Nice to Have
- Experience with 3D data, CAD, BIM, geometric deep learning or rendering pipelines.
- Background in retrieval-augmented generation, agentic systems or applied LLM evaluation.
- Open-source contributions, peer-reviewed publications, or conference talks.
- Exposure to B2B SaaS environments and to multi-tenant data architectures.
Why This Role, Why Now
Cyncly is at a rare inflection point: a category-defining global platform with deep proprietary data, a clear AI mandate from leadership, and the runway to build long-term. You will not be wedging ML into a legacy product — you will be helping define what intelligent design and configuration looks like for an entire industry, with real users on day one.
What We Offer
- Competitive base salary, performance bonus and equity-equivalent long-term incentive.
- Hybrid working model with flexible hours and meaningful remote-first practices.
- Annual learning & conference budget, plus dedicated time for research, writing and open source.
- Modern hardware, generous compute budget for experimentation, and access to enterprise LLM tooling.
- Private healthcare, pension contribution and standard local benefits per country.
- A senior, collegial team that values craft, clarity and ownership over politics.
