Data Scientist / Data Engineer

About the Role

As part of the development of Data Science and Data Engineering activities for an industrial client, we are looking for a hybrid Data Scientist / Data Engineer profile. The consultant will work on topics related to the maintenance of existing calculation chains, their modernization towards the Cloud, as well as Data Science work around connectivity issues.

Main Missions

The profile will notably be involved in the following activities:

• Maintenance and evolution of calculation chains developed in Python
• Intervention in Shell / Linux environments
• Participation in the move to Cloud of existing activities
• Code refactoring and application of good development practices
• Execution and adaptation of processing in a Cloud environment
• Implementation or improvement of CI/CD chains
• Data Science work around connectivity topics
• Contribution to the structuring of data pipelines and processing

Expected Skills

Data Science / Data Engineering Skills

• Solid theoretical foundations in Data Science and Data Engineering
• Good understanding of the main principles of Data Engineering: data pipelines, tests, industrialization, code quality, automation
• Skills around calculation chains and data processing
• Ability to understand, maintain, and improve existing code

Cloud / Dev Skills

• Experience or good knowledge of AWS
• Ability to execute processing in a Cloud environment
• Awareness of good development practices: Refactoring, Versioning, CI/CD, Robustness of processing

Expected Soft Skills

We are looking for a pragmatic, adaptable, and autonomous profile, capable of evolving in an industrial and technical environment. The candidate must be comfortable with both Data Science topics and more Data Engineering / industrialization-oriented issues.

Compensation

40K to 50K gross annual salary depending on profile.
