Your Responsibilities
- Lead the technical implementation of Flexa data science initiatives and projects from ideation and model development through deployment and maintenance, ensuring robust and high-quality solutions.
- Research, develop, and adapt algorithms that unlock the capacity in our virtual power plant through optimized aggregation and dispatch concepts, household-level forecasting and identifying opportunities to distribute intelligence.
- Mentor and guide Flexa data scientists, fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement.
- Foster technical excellence, drive best practices and contribute to our open, data driven engineering culture.
- Strategic Product Development: Drive the advancement of our product roadmap, ensuring scalable and efficient solutions that expand the reach of our platform.
- Keep Flexa at the forefront of innovation within the energy sector.
- Work collaboratively within Flexa cross‑functional teams and across partner companies, to ensure alignment with product and business goals.
Your Profile
- University degree in a data-driven or analytical field (such as Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or related disciplines), with a strong focus on Machine Learning.
- 5+ years of industry experience in applied data science or Machine Learning.
- 3+ years of industry experience in a technical leadership role, overseeing data science initiatives.
- Proficiency in software development and software practices, with strong expertise in Python.
- Extensive hands‑on experience in developing, deploying and monitoring Machine Learning models in production.
- Experience in working in the cloud, ideally AWS, with an emphasis on data and Machine Learning tools.
- Demonstrated ability to tackle and resolve multiple complex data science challenges simultaneously, from conceptualization to delivery in production, within fast‑paced environments.
- Excellent communication skills in English, and ability to handle multiple stakeholders in a cross‑functional setting.
- Proven record of guiding data scientists to contribute to the organization’s financial performance.
Skills to Set You Apart
- Deep understanding of optimization problems and methodologies.
- Industry experience in the energy industry, particularly in energy trading or similar fields.
- Expertise in designing algorithmic execution strategies and modeling market impact within intraday continuous power or financial markets.
- Substantial background in forecasting intraday price movements, modelling order book dynamics, and market microstructure.
- Hands‑on experience in big data technologies, such as Spark and Dask, and in handling Machine Learning models at scale.
- Experience in time series data processing, analysis and forecasting, with focus on streaming setting.
