The Homebase Data & AI is the organizational home for employees focusing on data & artificial intelligence. We are looking for a Data Scientist (m/f/d) with a focus on quantum computing for use in data-driven business cases.
As a Data Scientist, you will be responsible for the selection, adaptation, and implementation of analytics algorithms and machine learning models, as well as tasks in quantum computing and quantum encryption in exciting projects. Through your work, you will enable data-driven decisions and innovations, thereby maximizing the company value of data, taking into account technological developments in the context of quantum computing and quantum machine learning.
Your Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- (Further) development and optimization of quantum algorithms, including known methods like Grover, as well as working with probabilistic models like Markov Logic Networks and Bayesian Networks, and applying tensor network decomposition methods.
- Implementation and optimization of classical ML, quantum ML, and deep learning methods.
- Independent planning, execution, and evaluation of experiments on quantum computers and quantum simulators.
- Contribution to mathematical and algorithmic problem formulation, especially in the area of key breaking, such as prime factorization as a combinatorial optimization problem.
- Active shaping and continuous improvement of the development process of AI solutions in interdisciplinary teams with data scientists, software, requirements, and data engineers, as well as other stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
Required Skills:
- Completed STEM degree and strong analytical and mathematical understanding, ideally with experience in quantum computing.
- Sound knowledge of quantum mechanics/quantum informatics and linear algebra, as well as experience with statistical models such as Markov Logic Networks (advantageous).
- Professional experience in creating and integrating extensive analyses, as well as in data science, machine learning, and deep learning.
- Programming skills, especially Python, as well as experience with quantum computing frameworks (Qiskit, Pennylane) and data science frameworks like polars, pandas, sklearn, PyTorch, HuggingFace.
- Good communication skills for understandable presentation of complex issues to team colleagues and stakeholders.
