The Bundesamt für Verfassungsschutz (BfV) is the domestic intelligence service of the Federal Republic of Germany and makes a significant contribution to the security of its citizens.

Your Tasks

• You will support our team in gathering information from large datasets.
• You will independently develop analysis projects and carry out data analyses, including target-group-specific visualization and presentation of results.
• You will work closely with specialized units of technical analysis support.

Salary and Perspective

• Permanent employment in pay group E11 TV EntgO Bund (annual gross salary from €55,078 to €81,615)*, with the possibility of later appointment as a civil servant
• Permanent employment according to §12 II TVöD
• Transfer of civil servants up to A 11 BBesO A, provided the career requirements are met
• Payment of an intelligence service allowance, specialist allowance, and other salary increases possible upon individual review
• Depending on the possibility of recognizing qualifications and prior experience

Your Profile

You are a German citizen and possess:

• A completed university degree (Bachelor/Diploma [FH]) in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Mathematics, Data Science, Natural Sciences, or Engineering with a focus on Data Analysis, or in a comparable degree program with a focus on Statistics or Data Analysis.
• At least 2 years of professional experience in Data Science.

Furthermore, we expect:

• Proven good knowledge:
  • With modern data analysis, statistics, visualization tools, machine learning libraries, and toolchains.
  • In statistical methods, quantitative analysis, or data modeling.
  • In at least one programming or scripting language.
  • Of the English language, both written and spoken.
  • The ability to communicate and visualize complex issues effectively and in a target-group-appropriate manner.

Experience with collaboration and version control tools, as well as containerization and virtualization solutions, is also advantageous.
