Why this role is key?

Integrated into the Assortment Squad, you are a central pillar in developing the analytical components at the heart of the recommendation engine. Your role is to design sophisticated data solutions to optimize strategic product choices, thereby ensuring commercial performance and the relevance of the in-store offering.

Your daily missions:

Develop analytical components for the recommendation engine:

• Clustering & Attributes: Develop clustering algorithms to group stores by "DNA" and refine assortment envelopes (TACs).
• Forecasting & Cannibalization: Model sales transfer when a product is removed from the assortment to secure overall revenue.
• Optimization: Actively participate in the implementation of constraint optimization solvers.
• GenAI (Bonus): Explore the use of Generative AI to enrich missing product attributes (e.g., "Sweet taste", "Texture").

Ensure operational excellence and continuous improvement:

• Analysis and Impact: Evaluate code quality and its business impacts, while questioning existing solutions to optimize them.
• Standards Compliance: Deliver high-performing solutions within deadlines, while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Business Collaboration: Ensure fluid communication (written and oral) with business teams to translate needs into technical solutions.

Contribute to collective dynamics:

• Team Spirit: Collaborate effectively with squad members to achieve common goals.
• Reflection: Objectively evaluate issues and propose structuring improvement axes for the platform.

Technical Stack:

• Languages: Python (Pandas expert), SQL
• Machine Learning: Scikit-learn, Clustering Algorithms
• Specialties: Sales Forecasting (Timeseries), Constraint Optimization
• Innovation: NLP, GenAI (LLM for attribute enrichment)

You are the ideal person if:

• More than 7 years of experience as a Data Scientist, with a solid track record of production projects.
• Graduated with a Bac+5 from an engineering school or equivalent university with a specialization in computer science or data.
• Retail Expertise: Experience in the retail or mass distribution sector is a major asset.
• Analytical Mastery: Excellent modeling skills (Clustering, Timeseries) and an appetite for optimization topics.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication in French, sharp analytical skills, ability to step back, and a strong taste for teamwork.
