About

Bern, Full-time (40 hours per week), Minimum 5 years of residence in Switzerland. We are supporting the Swiss Armed Forces on their digitalization journey. The goal of this digital transformation is to strengthen Switzerland's defense capabilities and leverage the opportunities of technological progress as a key to success.

As a DevOps Engineer with a focus on Microsoft, your role will center on the engineering, stabilization, and secure development of the relevant services and platforms. You will ensure standardized, reproducible, and secure operation across various environments.

The focus is on the operation and further development of a dedicated collaboration platform in a secure environment.

Responsibilities

  • Close collaboration with the Product Owner and development and operations teams to achieve project goals
  • Engineering, operation, and continuous optimization of Microsoft services within the project context
  • Ensuring the quality, stability, and security of the services operated within the project
  • Active participation in the continuous development of the project platform and operational processes
  • Use of modern technologies to support a secure and stable private cloud infrastructure

Required Skills

  • Solid knowledge of Windows system administration (Win Server, WSUS, MECM) and common Windows tools
  • Solid knowledge of the operation, maintenance, and further development of the Microsoft Exchange Server SE infrastructure
  • Administration and troubleshooting of Exchange services: mail flow, transport, DAGs, OWA, MAPI, ECP, Autodiscover
  • Management of Active Directory and its Exchange-specific components
  • Ensuring security and compliance requirements (TLS, DKIM, SPF, DMARC, DLP, mail encryption, auditing, e-discovery)
  • Monitoring and performance optimization of Exchange and Windows servers
  • Scripting and automation of routine tasks (PowerShell)
  • Understanding of network technologies, firewalls, load balancers, and security concepts
  • Proficient use of automation and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, GitLab)
  • Knowledge of automating infrastructure and operational processes (gitOPs) CI/CD

Nice to have Skills

  • Knowledge of ITIL, monitoring tools (Zabbix)
  • Experience with LDAP/SSO integrations
  • Knowledge of open-source mail gateways
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow scripting
