As a DevOps Engineer - Mid to Senior Level, you will be integral to our mission, ensuring the success of systems vital to national security. This position will work a 9/80 schedule, granting every other Friday off, and will be conducted 100% onsite in a SCIF environment in Dulles, VA.
Job Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Contribute to the technology that enables the launch of satellites and spacecraft, enhancing the Space Protection Mission.
- Elevate program software by leveraging automation frameworks.
- Explore cutting‑edge technologies that optimize our cloud environment.
- Identify and resolve issues in code, testing, and deployment processes.
- Utilize tools such as Jenkins and Ansible to accelerate the software development lifecycle.
- Automate cloud‑native technologies and efficiently provision infrastructure.
- Work with microservices and distributed application architectures, including containers, Kubernetes, and serverless technologies.
- Develop applications using diverse languages and tools such as Python, Postgres, Ansible, and static code analysis.
This position is contingent upon obtaining the necessary clearances and program access within a specified timeframe.
Basic Qualifications (Must Have)
This requisition may be filled at either a Level 2 or Level 3, depending on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
Level 2
- Bachelor's degree with 2 years of relevant experience or an additional 4 years of experience in lieu of a completed Bachelor's.
- Master's degree with no relevant experience required.
- 2+ years of experience in DevOps, including proficiency in Cloud Infrastructure, Containerization, Ansible, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
- 2+ years in a technical leadership role focused on managing objectives and metrics.
- Experience with Windows and Linux command‑line interfaces.
- Proficiency in PowerShell and Bash scripting.
- Current Security+, CISSP, or other applicable certification.
Level 3 (Principal Level)
- Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience or an additional 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- Master's degree with 3 years of relevant experience.
- PhD with 1 year of relevant experience.
- 5+ years of DevOps experience in Cloud Infrastructure, Containerization, Ansible, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
- 5+ years in a leadership role managing technical objectives and project metrics.
- Experience with Windows and Linux command‑line interface.
- Expertise in PowerShell and Bash scripting.
- Current Security+, CISSP, or other relevant certification.
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)
- Active TS with current/active SCI clearance.
- Favorable adjudication for CI or FS polygraph.
- Degree in a STEM field.
- AWS experience.
Salary
- Primary Level Salary Range: $91,800.00 – $137,600.00
- Secondary Level Salary Range: $114,000.00 – $171,000.00
The aforementioned salary ranges are guidelines and can be influenced by factors such as responsibilities, candidate experience, and prevailing market conditions. Employees may also qualify for overtime, shift differentials, and discretionary bonuses, in addition to base pay.
