DevOps / SRE / Site Reliability Engineer – Infrastructure Migration & Access Transition - Contract to Hire

Project Overview

We are transitioning control of an established eCommerce infrastructure and need an experienced DevOps / Site Reliability Engineer to manage a secure migration and access separation.

This is NOT a simple website migration. The goal is to ensure full operational continuity while transitioning systems to new ownership and securing all access.

Scope of Work

1. Infrastructure Audit

   • Identify all servers, services, and dependencies
   • Review hosting, DNS, email systems, databases, and integrations

2. Migration or Isolation Strategy

   • Recommend best approach:
     • Full migration to new server/provider OR
     • Secure in-place transition with full credential/key rotation
   • Execute migration or transition plan

3. System Migration

   • Website (frontend/backend)
   • Databases (including pricing data)
   • Email systems (custom mail)
   • Internal tools and systems
   • Ensure minimal downtime

4. Security & Access Control

   • Rotate all credentials (SSH, API keys, DB access, admin accounts)
   • Remove all legacy access
   • Ensure only new ownership has control

5. Verification & Documentation

   • Confirm all systems are working post‑transition
   • Provide clear documentation of infrastructure and access

Requirements

• Strong experience with DevOps / SRE work
• Server and cloud migration experience
• Linux system administration
• Database migration experience
• DNS and email system knowledge
• Strong security mindset
