Role Overview

We are looking for a strong Marketing/digital Marketer to drive market entry, brand visibility, and early revenue generation for food products through a digital-first strategy, while coordinating initial commercial activities including customer engagement, distributor support, and sales tracking across local and international (diaspora) markets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Digital Marketing & Online Market Development (Primary Responsibility)

  • Develop and execute a digital-first go-to-market strategy for Naturis Giant food products
  • Create, manage, and optimize:
    • Company website (content, product pages, inquiries)
    • Social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn)
  • Set up and manage e-commerce channels, including:
    • Amazon and other online marketplaces
    • Product listings, SEO optimization, pricing, and promotions
  • Develop and manage content:
    • Product photography and videos
    • Brand storytelling targeted at local and diaspora audiences
  • Execute digital campaigns and track performance (ads, engagement, conversions)
  • Monitor and respond to customer inquiries, reviews, and feedback

2. Commercial Coordination & Sales Support (Secondary Responsibility)

  • Coordinate onboarding of early-stage sales channels:
    • African shops and specialty stores
    • Restaurants and food service outlets
    • Small distributors (local and international)
  • Manage inbound sales inquiries and convert leads into customers
  • Maintain a customer and distributor database
  • Track orders, sales activities, and customer interactions
  • Prepare and maintain:
    • Product pricing sheets
    • Sales documentation
    • Customer communication records

3. Export & Market Expansion Support

  • Support export sales coordination to:
    • USA, Canada, and Europe
  • Liaise with:
    • Logistics and export documentation teams
    • International customers and distributors
  • Identify opportunities within diaspora markets and support market entry initiatives

4. Sales Tracking, Reporting & Insights

  • Track and report:
    • Online sales performance
    • Customer inquiries and conversion rates
    • Distributor engagement
  • Prepare weekly performance reports covering:
    • Digital campaign results
    • Sales activities
    • Market feedback
  • Provide insights to improve product positioning and marketing strategy

5. Brand Development & Market Positioning

  • Ensure consistency of brand across all digital and commercial platforms
  • Support packaging and labeling alignment with market expectations
  • Contribute to positioning of products in competitive markets

SCOPE LIMITATIONS

This role is execution-focused and interim in nature. It does NOT include:

  • Strategic commercial leadership or full sales management
  • Major distributor negotiations or contract structuring
  • Large-scale pricing strategy decisions
  • National/international sales network development at scale

These will transition to the Director, Commercial Operations (DCO)

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)

  • Growth in website traffic and social media engagement
  • Number and quality of product listings on e-commerce platforms
  • Lead generation and conversion rates
  • Number of onboarded retailers/distributors
  • Early-stage revenue from food product sales
  • Customer feedback and satisfaction metrics

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in:
    • Marketing, Business Administration, Digital Media, or related field
  • 2–5 years experience in:
    • Digital marketing
    • E-commerce (Amazon experience is an advantage)
    • Sales or customer engagement

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Strong digital marketing and content creation ability
  • Experience with e-commerce platforms and online sales tools
  • Good communication and relationship management skills
  • Basic commercial and sales understanding
  • Analytical mindset (campaign tracking, data interpretation)
  • Self-driven, proactive, and able to work independently

ROLE TRANSITION / CAREER PATH

This is an interim hybrid role.

Upon onboarding of the Director, Commercial Operations:

  • Commercial coordination responsibilities will transition to the DCO team
  • Role will evolve into one of:
    • Digital Marketing Specialist
    • E-commerce Manager
    • Brand/Marketing Executive

STRATEGIC IMPORTANCE

This role acts as the bridge between production and the market, ensuring that:

  • Products gain visibility early
  • Demand is created before full-scale production
  • Initial sales channels are activated efficiently

This is a hands-on, high-impact role suited for someone who can operate at the intersection of digital marketing and early-stage commercial execution, with the agility to support a fast-growing FMCG business.
