Cloud Director (Azure)

About

This is a very senior leadership role with a strong strategic focus. The Cloud Director will drive long-term cloud vision, guide modernization efforts, and provide executive-level leadership across Azure adoption, governance, and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and own Azure cloud strategy for government and regulated platforms.
• Serve as executive-level cloud advisor across delivery, product, engineering, and sales leadership.
• Provide strategic oversight for platforms such as EFTPS, state tax systems, and Medicaid/EVV solutions.
• Guide modernization of legacy platforms while ensuring security, compliance, and resilience.
• Establish cloud governance, operating models, and architectural standards at scale.
• Support and shape major regulatory initiatives, including FINS Act related efforts.
• Mentor and provide direction to Cloud Architects, Engineers, and DevOps leaders.
• Represent cloud strategy in discussions with government clients, financial institution partners, and senior stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of technology leadership experience with strong cloud focus.
• Demonstrated ownership of enterprise or portfolio-level cloud strategy.
• Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure within regulated environments.
• Experience supporting government, banking, or financial services programs.
• Strong understanding of systems integration models and complex partner ecosystems.
• Proven ability to communicate and influence at the executive level.

Nice to Have

• Experience with federal government programs or U.S. Treasury initiatives.
• Background in payments, tax systems, or large-scale financial platforms.
• Familiarity with Medicaid, EVV, or state government technology ecosystems.
• Prior leadership in large-scale cloud modernization programs.
