Firmware Engineer
Stoke Space
About the role
About
At Stoke, we believe a thriving space economy will enable a vibrant, sustainable, and equitable future here on Earth. That is why we’re building Nova, our fully and rapidly reusable launch vehicle. Designed for daily flight, Nova tackles the core challenges of space transportation by reducing cost, increasing availability, and improving reliability. By radically lowering launch costs and increasing flight cadence, we’re helping create a truly scalable space industry.
Our team is mission‑driven, collaborative, and empowered to take ownership of their work. If you want to work alongside some of the most dedicated and talented people on Earth, we’d love to have you join us.
Reusable launch systems are the key to seamlessly connecting Earth and space. Rockets can only be built on rock‑solid foundations, and for Vehicle Software, that foundation is our firmware. A predominant number of components on our launch vehicle are controlled by our in‑house firmware, playing an essential role in the hardware‑software interface. As a Firmware Engineer, you will develop, test, and deploy code that can reliably support mission operations.
If you are a software engineer that loves bits and bytes, moving electrons, and making fire, then this is the role for you. This job is multidisciplinary. Some days you will be probing signals on a PCB, others you will be developing and testing new code, and others still you may be at the test site, installing and checking out a board being integrated onto an engine.

- Support teams that are using the firmware you’ve written by providing technical knowledge and documentation
