The Team

You will join the Platform Tribe, whose mission is to provide a solid technical platform and cutting-edge tools to other development teams, enabling them to deliver value quickly and securely. Within this Tribe, you will lead a versatile SRE team of 7 engineers, distinguished by its strong culture of mutual support and its dual expertise in AWS and GCP cloud environments.

The major challenges for the coming months are ambitious:

  • Accompanying development teams in our platform convergence project by providing new infrastructure elements to support new developments.
  • The complete migration of all our workloads from AWS to GCP.
  • Essential foundational work to refactor and optimize our codebase (Infrastructure as Code) to ensure long-term maintainability and scalability.

All of this takes place in a demanding and stimulating context: the payment sector, where security, reliability, and performance are our absolute priorities.

Your Missions

1. People Management & Coaching (Growing the team)

  • Coach your squad of Infrastructure and SRE engineers, helping them develop their technical and soft skills.
  • Develop career development plans and ensure performance monitoring, in collaboration with other Tech managers.
  • Attract and retain top SRE/Infra talent, working with the HR team to ensure an efficient recruitment process and a quality employee experience.
  • Lead team activities and be the guardian of Payplug's culture and working methods.

2. Squad Management & Delivery (Driving impact)

  • Monitor the SRE team's roadmap and delivery, ensuring commitments (quarterly commitments) are met.
  • Develop your team's ownership of the Quality of Service (QoS) for the products and features they are responsible for, respecting defined SLAs/SLOs.
  • Work with the Tribe's Head of Platform to identify the most impactful initiatives (run, build, migration).
  • Support the team in applying agile best practices and remove obstacles to ensure objectives are met.

3. Technical Leadership & Strategy (Ensuring robustness)

  • Be responsible for technical choices and the design of robust, secure, and scalable infrastructure solutions (on GCP, AWS).
  • Lead the team's delivery on all strategic topics they are involved in.
  • Ensure infrastructure compliance with best practices and the state of the art, actively participating in PCI-DSS certification processes and various audits throughout the year.
  • Collaborate with other EMs, Lead Developers, and Architects to ensure the coherence of Payplug's overall architecture.
  • Integrate the needs of development teams and business initiatives into infrastructure design.

Profile

We are looking for a team leader capable of navigating complex infrastructure issues and human management challenges.

  • You have significant experience in managing technical teams (SRE, DevOps, Infra).
  • You have a good knowledge of Cloud environments (GCP preferred).
  • You have a good understanding of SRE challenges (reliability, scalability, supervision, SLO/SLA).
  • Experience in managing technical roadmaps and leading large-scale projects (e.g., Cloud migration).
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills, leadership, and the ability to prioritize and make strategic decisions.
