E&C (Engineering & Construction) is the SUEZ entity responsible for the design and construction of water and waste treatment infrastructure projects of all sizes and on all continents. YOUR MISSION

Within Engineering & Construction, the Engineering Department is looking for an Engineering Manager.

You will be responsible for engineering within the framework of the execution of a business (design and construction of water treatment plants, drinking water production, desalination, wastewater treatment, incineration, etc.). You will be involved in French or Export businesses during the execution phase.

You will ensure the production of engineering deliverables in compliance with the schedule and engineering budget of the business. You will ensure the quality of the deliverables produced, in line with the contractual requirements of the business. You will also contribute to risk management and the creation of opportunities for the business.

You will report hierarchically to the Director of Engineering, and operationally to the Project Manager of the business. The engineering team mobilized within the scope of the business will report to you operationally.

Your main missions and responsibilities are as follows:

  • You are responsible for all engineering activities of the business. As such, you are part of the business Management team under the responsibility of the Project Manager, and you contribute to achieving the common objectives set for the business (including in terms of margin and schedule).
  • You are the representative of engineering, and as such you are the preferred point of contact for engineering for internal and external stakeholders within the scope of the business.
  • You define engineering risks and opportunities, in conjunction with the Project Manager who is responsible for all risks and opportunities of the business. You proactively participate in defining and implementing the associated action plans.
  • You prepare and implement the 'Engineering Management Plan', in conjunction with the 'Project Management Plan' managed by the Project Manager. As such, you contribute to building the engineering strategy, in coherence with the overall business strategy.
  • You define and manage the engineering schedule, coordinated with the overall business schedule. When necessary, you propose and implement the actions required to catch up on any delays.
  • Depending on the schedule and needs, you optimize the use of engineering resources deployed on the business, particularly their mobilization and demobilization.
  • You are responsible for the engineering budget of the business. You are responsible for its monitoring, as well as the identification and justification of any discrepancies.
  • You are responsible for technical coordination within the engineering team, as well as potential technical coordination with partners, co-contractors or subcontractors of the business.
  • You identify and solicit the technical support and expertise required when necessary for the business, particularly from the Discipline Managers and the company's Technical Department.
  • You ensure that the company's processes are applied and followed by the engineering team.
  • You ensure that the company's Health, Safety and Environment rules are followed and deployed in the design of the business's facilities.
  • You ensure that engineering documentation is produced and classified according to the procedures applicable to the business, in conjunction with the Document Controller.
  • You ensure that the design and engineering deliverables comply with contractual requirements. As such, you are responsible for the validation of all engineering deliverables.
  • You ensure engineering reporting to your Managers (operational and hierarchical). In particular, you prepare the business's engineering report on a monthly basis, and you participate in steering and business review meetings alongside the Project Manager.
  • You actively participate in feedback and the improvement of the internal knowledge base.

Occasional travel in France and abroad is to be expected.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Graduated engineer with a Master's degree (Bac+5), from a general or technical engineering school (mechanical, chemical, electrical, civil or industrial engineering), with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the design and implementation of industrial process installations, preferably in the field of water or waste treatment.
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team.
  • Leadership, ability to operationally manage a team of engineers and technicians (between 5 and 30 people).
  • Good writing skills.
  • Negotiation, analysis, synthesis and prioritization skills.
  • Rigor, organization, decision-making ability, availability, dynamism.
  • Autonomy, initiative, proactivity.
  • Operational English required.
