About the Position

Role: Field CTO for the Cloud, Infrastructure & Security (CIS)

Role Overview

Technology leadership is no longer just about systems—it is about shaping outcomes, influencing decisions, and earning trust at the highest levels.

As Field CTO, you will serve as Persistent CIS’s senior-most technology leader in the field—partnering directly with CIOs, CTOs, CISOs, and senior business executives of large enterprises. You will act as the bridge between business ambition and technical reality, helping clients navigate modernization, cloud transformation, AI adoption, security, and large-scale digital programs.

This role is both strategic and hands-on, with deep involvement in executive advisory, solution strategy, complex pursuits, and shaping Persistent’s technology narrative in the market.

Core Mandate

• Establish Persistent as a trusted technology advisor at the C‑suite level
• Influence large, complex transformation deals through technical leadership
• Shape solution strategy, reference architectures, and technology points of view
• Bridge client business objectives with engineering and delivery excellence
• Represent Persistent’s technology vision across industries and ecosystems

What Will be Your Role

1. Executive Client Engagement & Advisory

• Engage with CIOs, CTOs, CISOs, and senior technology leaders as a trusted advisor
• Lead strategic technology conversations focused on business outcomes, value, and risk
• Challenge client assumptions constructively and guide critical technology decisions
• Communicate complex concepts with clear executive storytelling and narratives

2. Technical Credibility & Architecture Leadership

• Provide deep, hands-on credibility across modern technology domains, including:
  • Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Enterprise networking & infrastructure
  • Security and enterprise platforms
  • AI and emerging technologies
• Whiteboard, co‑architect, and problem‑solve with senior client and internal teams
• Make and own complex architectural decisions, balancing innovation, risk, and feasibility

3. Bridge Between Business, Sales & Engineering

• Translate business challenges into actionable technology strategy—and back again
• Connect sales, presales, architecture, delivery, and partner teams into a unified pursuit model
• Understand the commercial impact of architectural decisions and influence deal structure
• Ensure strong alignment between GTM strategy and delivery execution

4. GTM, Solutioning & Pre‑Sales Impact

• Shape differentiated offerings, solution blueprints, and reference architectures
• Play a critical role in large, complex deal pursuits and strategic accounts
• Strengthen solution narratives to improve win rates and deal confidence
• Contribute technology perspective to GTM strategy and market positioning

5. Industry & Context Awareness

• Bring strong understanding of industry-specific nuances and regulatory environments
• Experience working across multiple verticals such as BFSI, Healthcare & Life Sciences, and other regulated enterprises
• Appreciate enterprise legacy environments, organizational dynamics, and change management challenges
• Tailor technology strategies to client maturity and real‑world constraints

6. Visionary yet Pragmatic Technology Leadership

• Balance forward-looking vision with practical execution
• Clearly differentiate what is viable today versus what is emerging next
• Integrate cloud modernization, AI, data, security, and transformation into a cohesive technology story
• Contribute thought leadership through internal POVs, whitepapers, or external forums (desirable)

What We’re Looking For

• 15+ years of experience in technology leadership, architecture, consulting, or engineering roles
• Strong hands-on background across cloud platforms and enterprise infrastructure
• Proven experience engaging senior client stakeholders (CIO, CTO, CISO, CXO level)
• Demonstrated impact in:
  • Pre‑sales, solutioning, and large transformation programs
  • Architecture leadership and complex technical decision‑making
  • Bridging business strategy and engineering execution
• Exposure to AI and emerging technologies through hands-on experience or certifications
• Experience working across multiple industries and enterprise environments
• Comfortable operating in ambiguous, high‑stakes, client‑facing situations
