Financial Analyst

Job Summary

This role supports the Sustainability department by providing financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting expertise, while also developing process improvements and reporting tools. With a strong focus on analytics and data driven insights, the position contributes to both capital and expense management, working collaboratively across multiple departments to optimize performance and sustainability initiatives.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Deliver financial support for the Energy and Waste teams, including accruals, journal entries, and variance analysis.
• Review vendor invoices for accurate coding and ensure timely financial reporting.
• Assist with developing and maintaining capital and expense budgets; perform monthly tracking and re-forecasting.
• Develop enhanced business reporting tools and streamline financial processes for improved efficiency.
• Lead or support PIC (Performance Improvement Contribution) initiatives to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Participate in special projects under the direction of Sustainability and Finance leadership.
• Support energy consumption data analysis and utility billing for sustainability reporting functions.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting roles.
• Proficient with Excel, MS Access, and analytical tools for data manipulation, validation, and dashboard development.
• Experience working with large datasets, visualizations, and delivering actionable insights to stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Analytical mindset with a passion for sustainability, data, and finance.
