As a Residual Market Financial Analyst, you’ll review quarterly servicing carrier cessions, analyze financial data, and support key accounting functions that help ensure accurate financial reporting across multiple reinsurance pools. What You’ll Do
- Analyze quarterly servicing carrier reports and prepare financial statements, exhibits, and supporting documentation for reinsurance pools and regulators
- Prepare reconciliations and analyses for multiple residual market reinsurance pools.
- Support pool participants by managing detailed financial analysis and responding to reporting inquiries.
- Perform accounting responsibilities, including journal entries, bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, and intercompany cash analysis.
- Provide financial documentation for external audits and regulatory examinations.
- Lead or support projects by evaluating processes, identifying issues, recommending solutions, and sharing results with management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3 years of financial or accounting experience, or
- Bachelor’s degree in risk management with at least 2 years of accounting experience, or
- 7 years of financial or accounting experience (including financial statement preparation) in lieu of a degree.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills and general knowledge of accounting concepts. Intermediate understanding of insurance terminology.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Oracle accounting systems.
- Experience in the insurance industry—especially workers compensation or residual market operations.
