GenAI / Machine Learning Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled GenAI / Machine Learning Engineer to join our team in Toronto. This role focuses on designing, developing, and deploying advanced machine learning and generative AI solutions, including large language model (LLM)–based applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to build scalable, production-ready AI systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy machine learning (ML) and Generative AI (GenAI) solutions
• Build and optimize applications leveraging large language models (LLMs)
• Fine-tune, prompt-engineer, and evaluate LLMs for business use cases
• Develop scalable backend systems and APIs using Python
• Collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and engineers to deliver AI-driven features
• Implement best practices for model evaluation, monitoring, and performance optimization
• Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and data governance standards

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong experience in Machine Learning (ML) and Generative AI (GenAI)
• Hands-on experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) (e.g., GPT, open-source models)
• Proficiency in Python and relevant ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch)
• Experience with prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and embeddings
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Experience building and deploying APIs and microservices
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with vector databases and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)
• Knowledge of MLOps tools and workflows
• Prior experience working in agile environments
• Exposure to NLP, deep learning, and transformer architectures
