About

As Head of Marketing & Growth at Buckles, you will lead our marketing team and take clear responsibility for business development. You will work closely with partners and lawyers across all legal departments to drive lead generation, strengthen client relationships and convert opportunities into profitable work, while shaping and delivering the firm’s overall marketing and growth strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Define and communicate a clear, coherent business growth strategy.
  • Work with departmental heads to identify key target clients and growth opportunities.
  • Strengthen market awareness of our capabilities and value proposition.
  • Equip and empower lawyers to act as business development ambassadors.
  • Collaborate with partners and leaders to set annual revenue targets and translate them into actionable plans.
  • Lead a high-performing marketing team to deliver data-driven strategies and measurable results.
  • Adopt a culture of accountability and proactive risk management across the firm.
  • Maintain strategic oversight of client and prospect relationships, supporting pitches and presentations where needed, while focusing on enabling lawyers to lead these engagements.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in senior marketing and growth leadership roles, ideally within professional services.
  • Strong strategic thinking and execution skills.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the business.
  • A data-driven approach to marketing and business development.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly, concisely, and confidently.
  • High levels of tact, diplomacy, discretion, and emotional intelligence, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and differing viewpoints within a partnership environment.
  • Strong consensus-building capability, able to bring together diverse perspectives, identify common ground, and establish shared goals, naturally collegiate and sensitive to others’ viewpoints.
  • Proven experience enabling successful sales through others, whether by leading teams or supporting professionals to deliver in client-facing roles.
  • Solid knowledge of core marketing disciplines relevant to a medium-sized organisation (digital and social marketing, event management, pitch materials, campaign execution).
  • Demonstrated ability to set targets, hold others accountable, and manage delivery against agreed objectives.
  • Experience in the legal sector is beneficial but not essential.
