The Directorate for Labour of the SECO is part of the Confederation's competence centre for all core issues of labour market policy and unemployment insurance. The Labour Market/Unemployment Insurance (ALV) service area is responsible for the Unemployment Insurance Act as the compensation office of the ALV fund. As part of the IT department, the Data Warehouse Application Services group contributes to the monthly creation/production of official Swiss labour market statistics, provides tools for the efficient and effective management and control of decentralised implementation as well as management support tools for the compensation office and the implementation bodies, and is responsible for over a dozen extensive Data and Analytics applications.
What you'll do
- Lead the requirements gathering from service and business process owners and derive use case-optimized data models
- Lead engineering for the piloting and new build of the new Data & Analytics Platform
- Lead the design, development, maintenance, and optimization of data pipelines
- Be responsible for and optimize data preparation processes and data repositories regarding performance, reliability, and resource efficiency
- Be responsible for and automate the collection of data quality characteristics and develop suggestions for improving data quality
What makes you unique
- Completed degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Business Informatics, or comparable qualification (HF / Bachelor/Master)
- IT certification (ITIL, HERMES) is an advantage
- Several years of experience with Data Engineering
- IT knowledge in the area of Open Source and technologies in the Apache Project
- Independent work, high personal responsibility, good analytical and conceptual skills; assertiveness, networked thinking, and high performance motivation
- Very good logical-abstract and analytical thinking skills as well as a quick grasp
- Good active knowledge of two official languages (written and spoken) and good English skills
