The Infrastructure Platform Engineer is responsible for building and maintaining essential internal platforms and tools that empower development and operations teams to reliably deploy, monitor, and scale applications within a secure federal environment. In this dynamic role, you will design standardized infrastructure patterns, implement CI/CD pipelines, and create self-service capabilities that enhance delivery speed and reduce friction across both on-premises and cloud environments. You will also automate the provisioning, configuration, and observability of compute, storage, and networking resources while integrating security and compliance controls into the platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement foundational infrastructure platforms that serve multiple application teams with standardized patterns and services.
• Develop and maintain automation for provisioning infrastructure, managing configurations, and managing environment lifecycle using scripting or infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Build and operate CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows to ensure quality gates are enforced and releases are frequent and reliable.
• Integrate logging, metrics, and tracing into platform services to provide robust observability and facilitate rapid incident response.
• Incorporate security and compliance controls into platform components, including access management, encryption, and policy-as-code practices.
• Offer self-service capabilities, clear documentation, and support to ensure product teams can efficiently utilize platform services.
• Collaborate with DevOps, application, and security teams to prioritize features and continually enhance the platform based on user feedback.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Approximately 8 years of experience in platform engineering or related roles, including DevOps or infrastructure engineering.
• Strong understanding of platform engineering principles and hands-on experience with technologies such as virtualization, containerization, and cloud platforms.
• Proficiency in automation, scripting, and experience implementing CI/CD, environment automation, and observability capabilities.
• Knowledge of data security best practices and experience with embedding security controls in infrastructure platforms.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in managing an internal developer platform that provides self-service capabilities, documentation, and support for various product teams.
• Experience with platform assessments, automation, and disaster recovery, emphasizing reliability and scalability improvements.
• Relevant certifications such as CKA or AWS Solutions Architect.
• Familiarity with the federal program IT environment and associated regulations.

The compensation provided for this position serves as a general guideline and may differ based on these considerations. Monetary compensation is a part of ASM's overall compensation and benefits package.

Salary Range

$78,400 - $129,400
