About the opportunity
The Data Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, documenting and optimizing modern data architectures that power business analytics and AI‑driven solutions. You will collaborate with key IT stakeholders in software development, business analysts and other areas to build scalable solutions to transform data into key insights. You will be responsible for ensuring the business has access to reliable, accurate metrics that can scale with our company’s growth.
Attributes we are looking for
- Application, database and Data Pipeline Development
- Design and build scalable data pipelines using AWS services like AWS Glue, Amazon Redshift, and S3.
- Develop efficient ETL processes for data extraction, transformation, and loading into data warehouses and lakes.
- Create and manage applications using Python, SQL, Databricks, and various AWS technologies.
- Quickly develop innovative Proof‑of‑Concept (POC) solutions and services to address emerging needs.
- Provide Run/DevOps support and manage the ongoing operation of data services.
- Automate repetitive tasks and build reusable frameworks to improve efficiency.
- Ensure that data services are reliable, maintainable, and seamlessly integrated with existing systems.
- Optimize performance of queries, pipelines, and storage systems for scalability and efficiency.
- Monitoring and troubleshooting
- Detect issues in pipelines, fix failures, and ensure smooth data flow.
- Ensure the business has access to reliable and accurate metrics.
- Ensure Data Security and Compliance
- Ensures compliance with Lactalis’s data policies and regulatory standards, controls access and protects sensitive data against breaches.
- Collaborate Across Teams
- Partner closely with product managers, data scientists, business analysts to deeply understand data needs and deliver solutions that are both technically sound and highly relevant to their objectives.
What you will bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- AWS Data Engineering certification is an asset.
- 3+ years of experience as an Analytics Data Engineer or similar Data Science & Analytics roles.
- Proficiency in designing and implementing Data Pipeline on AWS using native and configurable AWS services.
- Strong experience with AWS Services: S3, Lake Formation, Glue, EMR, EC2, Athena, Lambda, EventBridge, SNS, SQS.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python and Spark for Data Engineering tasks.
- Experience in CI/CD development and deployment.
- Strong understanding of Data Lake architecture, data governance and security best practices.
- Strong understanding of data science principles to support the requirements for machine learning workflows, feature engineering, and model deployment.
- Excellent design and troubleshooting skills.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Compensation
As part of our commitment to fairness, trust, and transparency and our ambition to be an Employer of Choice, the base salary range for this position is $88,400 – $110,500+.
Please note: Along with a comprehensive Total Rewards package, your actual base salary will be fair, competitive, and be based on your skills, experience, and qualifications.
