IT Support Engineer

Introduction

Unibyte Data Systems is a growing IT support and solutions company based in Johannesburg. We support small and medium-sized businesses across a range of industries, ensuring their systems run reliably, securely, and efficiently.

We are looking for a motivated and technically capable IT Support Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with solid foundational experience who wants to grow within a hands-on, client-focused environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Desktop support for Windows 10 and Windows 11 environments

• Microsoft 365 administration including user management, Exchange Online, and basic security configuration

• Support and maintenance of Windows Server environments

• Support of Remote Desktop Services and Terminal Server environments

• Basic networking support including firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, and general connectivity troubleshooting

• Setup and deployment of workstations and laptops

• Remote and onsite troubleshooting

• Assisting with backups, security, and system monitoring

Desired Experience & Qualification

• 2 to 5 years practical IT support experience

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365

• Experience supporting Windows Server environments

• Basic networking knowledge

• Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport

• Based in Johannesburg

Advantageous

• Microsoft or CompTIA certifications

• Experience in a managed services or IT support company

• Exposure to cloud environments such as Azure
