For my client, a specialized IT service provider within an internationally successful, listed healthcare group, I am looking for an experienced IT Systems Engineer for Laboratory Interfaces (m/f/d).

In this role, you will ensure the high availability of the IT infrastructure, which is literally vital in healthcare. I will personally guide you through the entire application process.

Your tasks:

• Concept, implementation, and lifecycle management of complex data interfaces between LIS, HIS, and PVS environments.
• Design and validation of data mappings using modern protocols and standards such as HL7 (v2/v3), FHIR, LDT 3.0, and XML.
• Configuration, deployment, and performance optimization of high-availability communication servers (e.g., Mirth Connect, Cloverleaf, or xGen).
• In-depth analysis of data pipelines and continuous refactoring to increase throughput and system stability.
• Second and third-level support, root cause analysis of transmission errors, and proactive monitoring of message queues.
• Creation of technical specifications, API documentation, and mapping logic according to industry standards.

Your qualifications:

• Degree in (Medical) Informatics, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a comparable technical qualification with a strong IT focus.
• Sound know-how in healthcare interoperability (HL7, FHIR) and experience in handling structured data formats.
• Practical experience in the administration and programming of communication servers (routing, transformation, scripting).
• Understanding of the architecture of medical information systems and their network connectivity.
• An analytical approach to complex logical problems ("troubleshooting mentality") and a structured way of working (e.g., according to ITIL standards).
• Team player in agile environments with the ability to precisely communicate technical issues to external service providers.
• Fluent German (C1 level) for technical coordination in the DACH region.
