Role Objective

We are looking for an experienced Product Manager to lead audience-facing and internal products for our digital media platforms. You will work at the intersection of editorial, technology, data, and business, owning product strategy and execution to drive reach, engagement, retention, and revenue while upholding editorial trust and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify growth opportunities across content, distribution, engagement, and monetisation.
  • Translate business goals (reach, engagement, revenue) into clear product outcomes and KPIs.
  • Deep understanding of consumer behaviour across platforms (web, apps, AMP, social).
  • Use quantitative data (traffic, cohorts, funnels) and qualitative insights (user research, newsroom feedback).
  • Track media trends: AI in newsrooms, platform algorithm changes, subscription fatigue.
  • Benchmark competitors and global best practices (NYT, Guardian, FT, regional peers).
  • Act as a bridge between editorial and technology teams.
  • Partner with editors to:
    • Improve story discovery, packaging, and presentation.
    • Optimise article formats (live blogs, explainers, visuals, reels).
    • Enhance newsroom tools (CMS UX, workflows, SEO tools).
    • Ensure editorial integrity while optimising for scale and engagement.
  • Own core metrics: Reach, Engagement, Retention, Revenue
  • Run experiments and A/B tests whenever required.
  • Use insights to drive: Product strategy, SEO & Google Discover optimisation, Push, email, and direct traffic growth.
  • Work closely with revenue teams on: Ad formats, Subscription and membership models, Balance user experience vs monetisation, Improve funnel conversion.
