- Job Type: Full‑time Permanent
- Salary: $55,000 – $65,000 per annum
We are seeking a motivated Junior Automation Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for recent graduates who are passionate about mechanical design and automation systems. The successful candidate will support the design, development, and implementation of automated machinery, with a strong focus on mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and development of automated equipment and machinery
- Create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using SolidWorks
- Design and develop fixtures and tooling to support production and automation processes
- Perform force analysis and basic engineering calculations to validate designs
- Support engineering analysis including stress, motion, and tolerance analysis
- Utilize 3D printing for prototyping, concept validation, and design iteration
- Participate in the installation and commissioning of automated equipment on the production floor
- Assist with equipment testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including electrical, controls, and maintenance
- Prepare technical documentation, BOMs, and design reports
- Ensure designs meet safety standards and manufacturability requirements
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (required)
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals
- Knowledge of force analysis, statics, and basic dynamics
- Familiarity with engineering analysis methods (e.g., stress, load, motion)
- Proficiency in SolidWorks (or similar CAD software)
- Basic understanding of CNC machining processes and capabilities
- Knowledge of engineering materials and common finishing processes
- Exposure to CAM software such as Mastercam or similar
- Hands‑on mindset with interest in building, testing, and improving equipment
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Internship or co‑op experience in automation, machinery design, or manufacturing
- Experience with 3D printing technologies (FDM, SLA, etc.)
- Exposure to automation systems, robotics, or industrial equipment
