Junior System Engineer
Tentris
About the role
About This Role
You will build an RDF graph database with us. That means hands-on work with page management, transactions, and join planning. It's OK if that's a first for you.
Learn from a supportive team No one builds a database alone. You will be part of a diverse team, working closely with senior engineers and receiving training in database architecture and good software engineering practices.
Grow in a healthy culture We believe that respect, appreciation, and constructive feedback are the foundation for both personal development and great code.
Who You Are
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science (or similar field) with a solid grasp of algorithms and complexity.
- You have initial experience in low-level programming (C, C++, or Rust) and learn new technical skills quickly.
- You like communicating technical problems and brainstorming solutions with colleagues. You know it’s okay to get stuck and ask for help to learn how to solve it yourself next time.
- You know that memory doesn't grow on trees, and are thrilled to expand your system programming skills.
Why Tentris
- Smart, supportive team that loves solving hard problems together
- Once-in-a-lifetime chance to build a database from scratch
- AI-proof software engineering job
- Competitive salary, VSOPs and 30 vacation days :)
Location
Cologne / Remote (hybrid – regular on-site collaboration)
Diversity & Inclusion
Not sure you meet all requirements? Research shows that great candidates from underrepresented groups are less likely to apply if they don't tick all boxes. We hire for potential and diverse perspectives, not a perfect checklist.
