Infrastructure and DevOps Engineer (Remote - US or Canada)

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will have years of experience in public cloud design and implementation. You will work in a dynamic environment and be encouraged to propose innovative solutions to technical problems, analyze and prioritize issues, and place the user at the core of every decision. You should ideally have extensive experience with GCP, AWS, or Azure deployments. Your work will involve you working directly with clients and potential clients. You are confident in your skills (and limitations), remain calm under pressure, and are always willing to mentor less experienced team members. Your colleagues see you as an excellent team partner who is happy to share knowledge, listen, and learn from others.

Work Location

100% Remote in the United States 100% Remote from the following provinces: Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia, and Alberta.

Primary Responsibilities

• Take ownership and deliver on critical tasks and deliverables, working with others to define and implement the best, complete solutions based on stakeholder needs.
• Provide solutions that address new complexities, scale, performance, and achieve breakthrough innovations. Create and apply frameworks, methods, best practices, and artifacts to provide prescriptive guidance to clients and publish and present them on various forums and media platforms.
• Have technical depth and hands-on implementation experience in a DevOps toolchain.
• Be willing to personally design and write code for infrastructure, applications, and process modules.
• Design, build, and maintain cloud applications using Kubernetes.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of public cloud experience
• Experience running 75+ node multi-tenant Kubernetes clusters on EKS, AKS, or GKE
• Expertise in major cloud services (Compute Engine, Load Balancing, Cloud Storage)
• Experience automating cloud-native technologies, deploying applications, and configuring infrastructure
• Professional-level knowledge and hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
• Experience developing cloud-native CI/CD workflows and tooling
• Experience owning and driving projects to successful completion, including leading small teams to achieve project goals

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional-level knowledge of automating cloud-native technologies, deploying applications, and configuring infrastructure using Bash, Java, Python, or GO
• Experience with release management for all environments using seamless/automated build scripts
• OTel experience
• Datadog, New Relic, and synthetic testing
• Deep understanding of IP networking, VPNs, DNS, load balancing, and firewalls.
• Willingness to travel to client locations as needed.
• Multi-cloud architecture and deployment experience

• Expected starting salary range in Colorado: $105,100 - $154,110
• Expected starting salary range in Hawaii and New York (excluding NYC): $111,800 - $164,010
• Expected starting salary range in California, New York City, and Washington: $122,500 - $179,630

Variable compensation in the form of bonus, commission, or other discretionary payments may be included in addition to the posted salary range and are based on eligibility, role, and performance. These discretionary payments are based on company and/or individual performance and may change at any time. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skill level, experience level, licenses and certifications, and specific work location.
