Lead AI/ML Engineer

Our client, a rapidly growing technology firm located in the heart of **Abuja, Federal Capital Territory, NG**, is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Lead AI/ML Engineer to spearhead their artificial intelligence and machine learning initiatives. This is a critical leadership role responsible for driving the development and deployment of intelligent systems that will revolutionize our products and services. Responsibilities: Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced AI and Machine Learning models and algorithms. Mentor and guide a team of AI/ML engineers and data scientists, fostering their technical and professional growth. Define and drive the technical roadmap for AI/ML initiatives within the company. Collaborate with product managers, software engineers, and business stakeholders to identify opportunities for AI/ML integration. Oversee the entire ML lifecycle, from data acquisition and preprocessing to model training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring. Develop and implement robust MLOps practices for efficient model deployment and management. Research and evaluate new AI/ML technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance our capabilities. Ensure the scalability, performance, and reliability of AI/ML systems. Architect and build data pipelines and infrastructure necessary for large-scale machine learning. Stay current with the latest advancements in AI/ML research and industry trends. Promote best practices in coding, testing, and documentation for AI/ML projects. Present technical findings and project updates to both technical and non-technical audiences. Qualifications: Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Statistics, or a related quantitative field. Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in AI/ML development, with at least 3 years in a leadership or senior technical role. Proven experience in leading and managing successful AI/ML projects from conception to production. Deep expertise in various ML algorithms, including deep learning, reinforcement learning, NLP, and computer vision. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, and experience with ML frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn. Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their ML services. Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) and data warehousing solutions. Solid understanding of software development best practices, including version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills. Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to build and foster high-performing engineering teams.
