Position Overview:

We are looking for a Lead - Backend Developer to take full ownership of our backend systems—driving architecture, development, and cross- functional collaboration. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll build scalable, secure systems, guide technical decisions, and mentor a growing team as we scale

Key Responsibilities: • Own the real-time communication backend powering enterprise messaging, voice, and video calling systems. • Lead microservices architecture across multiple services and repositories using Node.js (TypeScript), Express.js, and NestJS. • Optimize real-time performance ensuring low-latency communication and seamless scaling for enterprise deployments. • Design scalable messaging systems with pub/sub patterns, queue management, and session handling. • Lead and mentor a team of 5+ backend engineers through technical challenges, code reviews, and architectural decisions. • Work hand-in-hand with product manager, design, and frontend teams to ship features that are fast, secure, and reliable. • Write clean, well-tested code and help define engineering best practices across the stack. • Manage containerized deployments using Docker and Kubernetes for on-premise client environments. • Design database schemas, manage integrations, and optimize performance across SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, MySQL). • Optimize database performance, scale services, and improve reliability as our user base grows. • Establish and enforce engineering best practices around code quality, testing, version control, and CI/CD. • Monitor and improve system health using observability tools (e.g., logs, metrics, alerts). • Ensure application reliability through automated testing, logging, and monitoring. • Troubleshoot complex production issues across diverse client environments and infrastructure setups. • Maintain clear, up-to-date technical documentation for APIs, system architecture, Deployment guides to support team-wide clarity and client- specific configurations. • Maintain technical documentation for APIs, deployment guides, and client-specific configurations. • Mentor junior engineers, lead by example, and contribute to building a high-performance engineering culture. • Evaluate and integrate new technologies, tools, and patterns to improve backend systems and team efficiency. • Stay current with the latest trends and best practices in backend development and bring innovation to projects.

Required Skills & Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field. • 6+ years of experience building scalable backend services using Node.js/Nest.js. • Deep expertise in asynchronous programming, event-driven architecture, and design patterns. • Proficient in designing and integrating RESTful APIs, web services, and backend libraries. • Strong command over MongoDB, Postgres, or similar relational/NoSQL databases. • Familiarity with Docker, Git, Postman, and API documentation tools (e.g., JSdocs, Swagger). • Solid understanding of frontend fundamentals (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript) to collaborate across the stack. • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and CLI operations. • Competence in test-driven development, writing unit/integration tests, and working in Agile environments. • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills; capable of translating complex requirements into elegant code. • Ability to work independently and drive projects while mentoring junior team members.
